Due to its optical activity, it can be used for racemization of optical isomers in industry. At the same time, it is widely used as a pharmaceutical intermediate, such as the production of intestinal disorder inhibitors, HI V improver, etc. Left and right camphor sulfonic acid is used as an important splitting agent for optically active amino acid drugs, such as camphor sulfonic acid as a chiral ion pair reagent to separate phenylpropanolamine, metoprolol, propranolol, epinephrine, salbutamol and atenolol, which have receptor blockade, cardiac inhibition and local anesthesia. Salting camphor sulfonic acid or obtaining the corresponding camphor sulfonate through other synthetic routes also has a wide range of uses. For example, sodium camphor sulfonate is a veterinary central excitant, which can stimulate the respiratory center and excite the breath. It is used to treat acute disorders of respiration and circulation, and to combat central nervous system poisoning. Ammonium camphor sulfonate is added to the mobile phase as a chiral ion pair reagent to separate the enantiomers of aromatic alcoholamine drugs. At present, there are very few domestic companies that produce camphor sulfonic acid, and they basically rely on imports. The domestic market demand is large, and the price of camphor sulfonic acid is also very expensive, especially L-camphor sulfonic acid. Natural camphor is mainly proposed from camphor plants, ginger plants and mountain ginger seeds, and has optical activity; synthetic camphor generally isomerizes turpentine to obtain camphene, and then undergoes esterification, hydrolysis, dehydrogenation, etc. The reaction process is a racemate with almost no optical activity. At present, synthetic camphor is mainly used in daily chemical and light industry, and natural camphor with optical rotation activity after artificial separation is mainly used in the pharmaceutical industry. There are natural resources of camphor powder in our country. The production of camphor sulfonic acid with camphor powder has great economic and social benefits. Sodium camphor sulfonate is a respiratory cycle stimulant, the appearance of white crystals or crystalline powder. No smell. The taste is slightly bitter at the beginning and sweet at the end.
